Industrial Property Offices

The Industrial Property Offices responsible with trademarks is Directorate of Industrial Property, Secretariat for industry and small and medium enterprises (IPMEA); Ministry of Industry and SMEs.

Information needed in filing trademarks

  • the full instructions in word format (indicating name of the proprietor and address)
  • the signed and completed POA (model of POA available upon request)
  • the logo in word format if any
  • the list of specification, possibly in French. If not, kindly confirm that we can arrange for the translation

    • Procedure and time

  • Filing application. The IP office will issue stamped official proof of filing. The proof of filing will be containing the date of filing and indicator number of filing.
  • Waiting for the provisory number and the Minutes (approximately 3-4 months)
  • Waiting for the registration number.
  • Waiting for the registration certificate signed by the Minister. It takes approximately 1-2 years to obtain signed certificates.
